Booktuber Recommendations! - Part 1

Hey ya'll!

So I am a huge fan of booktube and watch a lot of different ones! Today I wanted to let y'all know some of my favorites!! These are in no particular order, just a list of some of my favorites. Also, this is only part one (I have wayyy too many for one post!) so i'm gonna list 5 and then list more in another post, so stay tuned!

1) Christine Riccio - PolandBananasBooks

Christine is so passionate about books, and this really shows in her videos! If you want to laugh, definitely check out Christine! Christine also does a great job of reviewing the books she reads. Every single one. And let me say, it is so much fun to watch her book reviews after reading a book! I love to see what she felt about certain areas and characters. Christine also puts up lots of skits and even does some TV videos!! If you are new to booktube definitely check her out! If you aren't new, well then you probably know her already :P

2) Whitney Atkinson- WhittyNovels

Let me just start off by saying that Whitney is my booktube BAE! Just look at her :P! But besides being easy on the eyes, she really is witty, just like her channel name suggests! Whintey constantly makes me laugh with her sarcasm and is also really relatable! She even hosts her own read a thon (The Cram-a-Thon) biannually! Also, if you love puppies, her snapchat is always full of adorable ones!! Books and puppies, where else can you possible want?!

3) Caleb- InsaneReader

Caleb is definitely the most under rated booktuber on this list! At 16, he is also the youngest! In addition to that, he is the only boy (for today at least)! Just because he is young, however, does not mean he is any less great! Caleb represents people of my age in a great light! He really is able to see books for their quality and not just based off their popularity. He is extremely silly (sensing a theme here?). Definitely go check out Caleb's channel if you want to laugh and get good book recommendations! Occasionally there are TV related videos too. His snapchat may also be the funniest one I follow, just sayin'.

4) Natasha- Tashapolis
Natasha is the ultimate fangirl. She really knows how to convince you to read a book or watch a show! Whenever she puts up a video, I am quick to click to see what I'll be recommended in that video. She does a variety of videos, from book hauls to tags to lookbooks to reviews to vlogs (her vlogs are amazing and feature an array of booktubers!) to fangirlish skits! Important to me, Natasha is making strides for plus sized people (She stars in a commercial for the Ginny B plus sized clothing line) and is open about her religion! I applaud her for both of these things! If she looks familiar to you, it could be because she appeared in a Once Upon A Time Recap Special a year and a half ago! Seriously y'all, this girl does so much amazing stuff and is bound to be into something that you are also!

5)Heather- Bookables
Lastly (for today) but certainly not least, is Heather. This woman puts so much into her channel and I love it! She makes the coolest thumbnails and works hard to make sure her background is very aesthetically pleasing! Heather is genuinely a very nice person and her videos always feel so welcoming and calming! She does great book reviews too- Spoiler Free and Spoilery so that you can watch both before and after reading the book! Any Gilmore Girls out there will love to know that she is a huge fan herself (does anyone else think she looks like Sookie?) and makes a whole bunch of fun videos about that too! And, also, this woman has a one year old son and an independent photography company on top of her channel! And she still manages to put out at least 2 videos a week! Go give                                                         this girl some love!!

Well, that's it for today! Please go check out all of these wonderful channels and enjoy! Come back soon for my end of 2016 wrap up posts!!

Raven Cycle Update

Just really fast I wanted to let y'all know. I got really slumpy and gave up on my reread.... I don't think any of y'all were doing it anyways... Sorry if you were!!

The Jungle Book Review

So last night I saw the new Disney live action version of The Jungle Book with some of my best friends in the whole world, and I have to say, it took me by complete surprise!!

This movie is a reimagining of the original Disney classic cartoon. It blends the plot of that in with the plot of the original book in a brilliant way. Basically, all the animals have a truce not to hurt one another but a tiger breaks that so everything goes down... Mowgli gotta get out to save himself. That's how this amazing movie starts and then we go on the ride that we are all pretty familiar with but in a whole new way!!

The visuals in this movie are breathtaking!! Everything looks gorgeous and it is so hard to believe it isn't all real!! Knowing all of this is CGI except for Mowgli blows my mind!!

This brings me to my next point, which is can we all just say NEEL IS AN AMAZING ACTOR!!! He had to act with just little puppets for all of these animals. The way it came out is amazing!!

Although some have said bad things about the new version of Bare Necessities, I loved it! I thought that it made complete sense that Mowgli wasn't the best singer in the world because of the story!!

If you have not seen this movie yet, I highly recommend doing so!! Also, if you get the chance, go see it in a theater! The effects will affect you more on the big screen!!

Lady Midnight Review

O.K. guys, it's been a while. However, I have finished Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare so I have decided to write a full review :)

5/5 Stars

Non-Spoiler Thoughts:
This book was GREAT!! In my opinion, this was the best first book by Cassandra Clare. This was hands down the best opening novel that she has written. Also, it is evident that Cassie's writing has improved greatly since City of Bones. If you have not read all of Cassandra's previous works, I would recommend doing so. This will improve your knowledge of characters that pop up from her other works. Also, the endings of those stories are spoiled in this one, so reading this (while explaining all you need to know) will spoil the other stories. Finally, there is one MAJOR reveal in the end of the book that will be very confusing if you have read the ending of City of Heavenly Fire, but not the Shadowhunter Academy stories.

Characters:

Emma: The protagonist, Emma is a great and strong character. She has sass and is not afraid to do what she wants or what needs to be done. By far the strongest of any of Cassie's protagonists.

Julian: Julian is the other main character, Emma's parabatai, and the love interest for Emma. Julian is also a father figure to all of the Blackthorn kids. I love his relationship with Emma and also how strong he is by himself!!

Christina: Emma's best friend, she is kick-a** and great!! I love how independent she is and was not afraid to leave her home.

Mark: Mark is the eldest brother in the Blackthorn family. He was taken by the wild hunt. I loved his character and all of the interesting plot points that occurred with him in this book :P

The rest of the Blackthorns: All of Julian's siblings were great!! Really interested in what is up with Ty!!

Malcolm: A great new warlock!! More on him in the spoiler section

Diana: Though barely in this novel, Diana was awesome when she was!! Diana is the kid's tutor, and you can really tell she loves them and cares for them. She is only doing what she is for them.

Arthur: Finally, we have Arthur, the Blackthorn's uncle and leader of the L.A. Institute. I loved his character and thought is mental illness was handled GREATLY!!

SPOILER THOUGHTS!!! DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU HAVE NOT READ LADY MIDNIGHT!
I loved everything about this book. All of it! This part of the review is bound to get somewhat choppy and all over the place but if you're reading this you've read the book, so it shouldn't matter. Haha!!

O.K., so first off, when Kit was revealed to be the lost Herondale, I lost it! I could not Believe Cassie just threw in this huge twist with this character!!

Next major surprise that killed me, THE MALCOLM TWIST!!! Who would've thought that this kind and lover of love would turn out to be who he was!! Insane!!

I also loved all of the little flashbacks Cassie gave to moments in the Blackthorns life, especially the one where Clary and Jace appeared.

SIZZY IS ENGAGED!!! Enough said.

WHAT IS UP WITH MARK?!?!? First off I was so shocked he was even here!! I was expecting him to stay at the hunt, but NO!! THEN, after we getting seriously into the Christina and Mark love story, Cassie drops Kieran!! WHAT??!?!? TO make matters even MORE complicated, EMMA AND MARK!! "' Why lie,' he said." WHAT?!?!?!

I did also love that Christina was not afraid to leave and stand up for herself! She did not stay at home with "perfect" Diego. She realized the flaws with him and got out while she still could! Good for her!!

O.K. finally, EMMA AND JULIAN NEED TO BE TOGETHER!!! The beach scene was so shocking (Like OH MY GOD!!) but it definitely sold me on their relationship. These two are so cute together and I need them together!! When Jem (OH MY GOD TESSA AND JEM YAAS) revealed why Parabatai can not be together, I actually cried!! If these two do not end up together I will be so crushed!!
O.K. well guys, that's about all that I have to say!! Thank you so much if you actually read this whole review!! I really enjoyed this book and would love to talk about it with y'all if you have read it!!

Raven Cycle Reread

Hello all,

So with just under a month to go until the highly anticipated (by me and many others) release of the fourth and final book in the Raven Cycle series, The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater, I have decided to reread the series!! I realized I do not remember much of what happened in the third novel, but would really like to. This way when I go to read the fourth one at the end of April, I will really be invested in this series!! I love this series, it is one of my favorites! I really want to be able to enjoy the fourth novel without trying to remember what happened in the previous ones.

Please feel free to comment if you are rereading the books or reading for the first time and want to discuss!! I would love to discuss with you all!!

And look forward to a review coming for the fourth novel soon after April 26!!

Fuller House- Review

O.K. So, I have watched all of Fuller House, and I have to say, it was Great!!!

I was a little worried after the pilot, but it ended up being a great show!!

I am going to review the show overall first and then go more in depth with spoilers after, so be warned if you have not seen the entire show!!

O.K. so fuller house was definitely more mature than full house was. I would not suggest letting your five year old watch it alone, but it was great for teens (like me) and adults that grew up with the old show!! A lot of the jokes were actually quite much if you understood it.  Now I have seen every episode of the old show, and I will say this one is quite different. The focus is more on the adults and less on the kids. However, we still get many great scenes with just the kids and between the kids and the women. Overall if you are hesitant to watch it, go in knowing the pilot is there for fans to see all of their favorite characters again, but that after that the show grows into something much more!

Now onto spoilers:

SPOILERS BELOW!!

you have been warned....

Pilot thoughts: I enjoyed the pilot for the most part. this episode really brought the nostalgia and was really for fans of the original. It was pretty cheesy, but still really good. I am, however, shocked that they threw so much shade at the Olsen twins. I know how this cast feels about each other, and that seemed completely uncalled for and out of character for both the actors and characters.

Episode 2: The only thing I really have to say about this episode is that it was the beginning of what the show was. Also it was interesting to see how the writers and cast brought back the plot of the first shows pilot.

Episode 3: This one shocked me. I could not believe how sexual and mature it got! I would not show this episode to any 5 year olds watching. It mainly takes place in a club, with lots of drinking and sexual dancing.

Episode 4: O.K. this was the episode when I truly felt this as a show and really began to enjoy this. This was the one where I really got into the show. I liked seeing more of the kids and more of the women as a parental figure.

Episode 5: This episode killed me emotionally. The reveal at the end of the episode that Stephanie could not have kids had me in tears. After seeing Steph grow so close to these kids, it was especially hard. Warning to parents: this one featured quite a lot of drinking and revealing dresses too. However, it was great to know that even in the midst of this big party, Steph was still so caring for Max.

Episode 6: Not much to say about this one except that it was great and that I love mother D.J.

Episode 7: This was the episode with Romona's birthday. Now this was was great, but I couldn't believe the ending. Kimmy kissing Fernando was very unexpected, but I enjoyed the direction it went. Also, the D.J. love triangle is really beginning to develop!!

Episdoe 8: This episode saw Max and Jackson's relationship with their Grandpa Danny and I loved it!! Also, D.J. and the gals are really getting back into the love scene. This did kind've surprise me. I was not expecting this much couples drama in this show being marketed as a kids show.

Episode 9: 1,000 roses. This was fully focused on who sent which woman these roses. Once again, I was a little surprised at how much this was focusing on the lady's love lives. It was GREAT, however, to see Harry return as Steph's "husband".

Episode 10: This was the episode where the gang went to the baseball game. I highly enjoyed this episode. However, I was not too impressed with the ending. I would have never thought that D.J. would be dating two men at once. This went farther than most love triangles in that D.J. is actually dating both men. This seemed highly out of character for her and I was surprised the writers brought it here.

Episode 11: The D.J. love triangle continues and her boss retires. So glad though that D.J. followed her dream.

Episode 12: After quick remarks about D.J.'s date with Matt, we get to see all of her date with Steve. I realize this was for fans of the original (and I loved seeing it) but it just seemed weird we didn't see her date with Matt too. This episode really made me remember how great Steve and D.J. are together. Team Steve all the way!! Kimmy and Fernando also get divorced and engaged after a kiss between her and Steph.

Episode 13: The finale. The gang gathers for Jesse and Becky to renew their vows. Why they were doing this was never really explained. Kimmy also decides to just tag her wedding on after the renewal. After a bachelorette party (once again the ladies are drunk. Thanks Netflix) the wedding commences, officiated by Joey. It was great seeing Jesse and Becky renew their vows on thier 25th wedding anniversary. The scene was really focused on Kimmy's decision. I thought she made the right one, to not remarry Fernando. She had been wanting to divorce him for 2 years!! I think she rushed into the rekindling a little to fast. Also, random side note, I loved seeing the girls eat cake!! Finally, we get to see what D.J. chooses. Who gets the final rose? Neither of the boys, D.J. decides to wait and giver herself more time. This was the perfect decision, in my opinion. She only just started dating again after LOSING HER HUSBAND!! It would have been way too fast for D.J. to commit to one of the boys. While I want her with Steve, though Matt isn't bad if she goes that way, I do not want them to rush it. Steve needs to wait until D.J. is fully ready to be married again.

I do hope to see another season of this show, and I'm sure we will. Based on the amount of buzz it has been getting, it seems unlikely we won't.

So what did you think of the show? Let me know in the comments below and also tell me what was your favorite episode? Team Matt or Team Steve? What did you think about Steph's reveal in episode 5? I want to know all your thoughts, so please, comment and we'll discuss.

Until next time,

2016: Books # 1-3

Hey ya'll,

Today I just wanna share with ya'll what i've been reading so far this year and what I thought of them.

#1) Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout:
This book is the third book in the Lux series. It follows book blogger Katie as she moves nextdoor to aliens. In my opinion, this third book was the weakest so far. Not too much happened and I was disappointed. I am hoping that the next was includes more action and less sitting and thinking.
4/5 stars
#2) Disney in Shadow  by Ridley Pearson:
This book is also a part of a series. This is the third installment of the Kingdom Keepers series. Now this installment was not my favorite (that is the first) but it was an improvement from the second one. It was very interesting to see the gang go into Epcot and Hollywood Studios. I especially loved how Fantasmic! tied into the story.
4.5/5 stars
#3) Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury:
O.K. so I read this one for school. It was alright, but I felt as though it was underwritten. I found it very interesting how blocked off this society was. However, my problem came with the way the story moved along. I felt that not much actually happened. While there was a lot of chance for things to take place, not much actually did.
2.5/5 stars

I am currently reading The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins and Welcome to Shadowhunter Academy by Cassandra Clare. I am hoping to read a lot of these books this weekend.

Austin and Ally- Finale Review

Hello everybody!!

Well that's it. It's all over!! Austin and Ally has come to an end after four amazing years!! This ending is very sad for me. Not only is it the end of this amazing show, it is also the end of my Disney era. I am still watching Girl Meets World, but that is from a different era for this channel. It is not one I started in my childhood.

So here are my thoughts for the finale (SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!):

The first half: This was really good, but none of it really hit me in the feels. Seeing the four fight was pretty sad, but I knew they would reconcile by the end of the hour. I was extremely happy to see Raini get a song though!! The end of the episode with the proposal felt a little forced for me, but I was still happy to see an Auslly proposal :)

The second half: This half was where the finale shined. After we find out that the proposal was not true, just editing done by Dez years after the first half to make up for the sad fact the two broke up years earlier. The fact that Auslly had broken up the first thing that really hit me in the finale. This was actually very realistic given the time jump, but was still hard for me to hear. Now personally, I loved the path the writers chose with the four year time jump. I appreciated getting to see the group still being friends for the most part after 4 years.
Seeing Auslly return to the Hellen show was the next thing that hit me. After four years, the show went back to where it started. This made me so happy. Seeing the gang go back here, I just loved it. On the show, the tension between Auslly is real. However, then they talk and decide to sing a song Ally had written for Austin called two in a million. This song was fabulous, and may have been my favorite song of the series!! Once the two sing, they admit the love they still have for each other and agree to get back together and join as an official singing duo. About time.
Finally, in the final moments, the viewers are treated to a ten year flash forward. This scene was the best for me. Knowing Auslly got married, but not having it be rushed in the end was a very smart decision on the writers' part. Also, Dez and Carrie together was wonderful! All the jokes about Dez and Trish's children made me very happy.
And finally, we see Auslly returning to the practice room. The room from their teen years where they spent all of their time. We see the two returning to the piano where they used to write all of their songs. Ally asks Austin if he "remembers this one?" and begins to play the theme of the show. This got me the hardest. Hearing this slow version of the theme of the show was so sad.

I will always love this show and the romance and friendships on it. I have really enjoyed the four years I have watched it. I love you, Austin and Ally!!

Until next time Fanboys and Fangirls, Broadcast Books

Austin and Ally- Best Episodes!!

Hello,

It is with a sad heart that I write this post. Tonight, Austin and Ally comes to a close :( I have really enjoyed watching this show for the past four years. Tonight also marks the end of an era. After tonight, all of the shows on Disney, except for Girl Meets World, I will not be watching. The time has unfortunately come for me to basically quit watching this channel, which I have been watching since I was 5 or 6. Thank God for Girl Meets World, because I am not quite ready to say goodbye to Disney Channel.

Anyways, my favorite episodes:

"Costumes & Courage"- The premiere of season 2, this episode is a favorite because it was the first time we got to see Ally preform.

"Austin & Jessie & Ally All Star New Year"- This episode was great because we finally got to see Austin achieve his dream of preforming in New York on New Year's Eve.

Chapters & Choices/Partners & Parachutes- Ally's career is growing, and Austin and Ally sing and kiss, what's not to love??

Couples & Careers- This one saw Austin and Ally's first date!! Although they broke up at the end, it was great to see the beginnings of this relationship.

Moon Week & Mentors- Love this episode because it reminds me so much of The Voice. Plus, Sabrina Carpenter plays adorable Suzy Gluckman:P

Fresh Starts & Farewells- The season 2 finale shows how far the gang has come in the past year! Ally has a record deal and Austin's going on tour! This episode is memorable though because of it's ending, when Austin gives Ally a card, though we do not know what is inside... The romance is still strong ya'll!!

Road Trips & Reunions- The season 3 premiere, we finally find out what was in the card, a plane ticket for Ally to go see Austin on tour (awww)! Ally goes to see Austin and decides to stay because she misses him so much.

Glee Clubs & Glory- This episode is really only great because of the awesome mash-up at the end.

Proms & Promises/Proms & Promises- In this amazing prom episode, the sexual tension is high between Auslly. Thankfully, the get back together at the end.

Beauties & Bullies- This episode is very important to me because it teaches kids not to bully. As someone who was bullied a lot in elementary school, I hope the lesson was learned.

Relationships & Red Carpets- We see how strong the Auslly relationship is:P Austin gives up his record label and the rights to his songs to publicize his relationship with Ally!!

Now, in all honesty, I have not seen all of season 4. I did not like the direction it went, and the episodes I did see did not intrigue me enough...

O.K. ya'll. Those were my favorite episodes. I'll see you tomorrow with a finale review!!

Until later, Fanboys and Fangirls, BroadcastBooks

30 Rock- Initial Thoughts

Hello!!

So sorry it's been a while since I've posted! I've been getting back into school after Christmas break, starting something really exciting that I will not be sharing just yet, and also, BINGE WATCHING!!! So today I just wanna give ya'll some of my initial reactions for the first four episodes of a show I just started- 30 Rock!

So 30 Rock is a comedy written by Tina Fey, who also stars. The comedy is about of group of comedy writers for a show called The Girly Show. At the start of the series, we see Tina's character get a new boss that comes in to shake up the show. This new boss assigns Tina's character to find a celebrity named Tracy to come and star on the show.

This show is really unique because it is an NBC show that shows the behind the scenes for an NBC show! Tina's character Liz is so funny and I love her!! Also, Tracy just cracks me up!! Really interested to see where the show goes from here, as I'm sure it will develop and become even more great!

O.K. well I hope to talk to y'all soon!! I am planning to write a numerous amount of posts this weekend, and set them up to publish every other day. We shall see how that goes :P Hope y'all are having a great 2016 so far!!
